Happy 4th of July!!!

We enjoyed a fun day! Had a cookout with mom & dad and then we made homemade ice cream. Right before we left the boys did sparklers. Ashlyn wasn't crazy about them at all. We ended the night by catching the tale end of the fireworks show downtown. Happy Birthday America!!!

It's Been Awhile!

I have to admit that keeping up with this blog is becoming a challenge for me. For some reason I find it easier to Facebook. I guess it is easy to type and quick status, then to type something "long and meaningful" on here. I guess I will play "catch up" since I haven't blogged in awhile.

First of all, I am 12 weeks along in my pregnancy today. It seems I am starting to feel some better, so hopefully the uphill progress will continue. I have my first appt. on Wednesday morning with my midwife. I am excited that I will be able to hear the heartbeat for the first time. I think we have decided to not find out the sex of this baby since we have 2 of each and we really don't have a preference either way. Thought it would be exciting to wait this time!

Secondly, both the boys finish school this week. Bryson will graduate from K5 on Thursday night. We are so proud of him and will share pics later this week. Landon finished his K3 year on Friday. He is pretty sad that it is over, but I am looking forward to some fun times this summer. I can't believe how quickly time has passed.

Sam is making preparations for Youth Conference in a couple of weeks. He will be gone a whole week (June 15th-19th) at Gospel Light Youth Conference in Walkertown, NC. He has around 20 teenagers signed up to go and is very excited. He hasn't been to youth conference in 10 years and is looking forward to going again. Me and the kids will be holding down the fort. Sam says he is already dreading the thought of being gone from us for a whole week.

I will post some more pics soon!

Should I change my blog name?

Well, most of you are all ready know, but are going to have another baby! So now what? My blog was named Jones Family x 6 and I am not sure how to change it! I guess we will wait until the baby arrives (due Nov. 29th) to make that judgment call! Please pray for us, as this was a complete shock and surprise and we are trying to make the mental adjustments... : )

Ready for Some R&R

Today we are headed to Pigeon Forge, TN for 4 days of vacation! Not sure if 6 people (4 being ages 5 and under) is considered a vacation to some people....but we are looking forward to some family time. We have no expectations and no plans....just whatever we decide to do...no pressure! My parents will be joining us Wednesday evening. I guess we will be completely away from any internet connection since we are staying in a cabin up in the mountains.

My new "hobby"

I have always loved finding deals when I just so happened to run across them...like the other day at the mall I was buying Landon a 4 piece set outfit for Easter. On sale it was going to be like $9, which is a pretty good deal; however, it rang up for $4.19!!! I was soooo excited!!!

Now, I have moved beyond just happening to find deals, but actually looking for them! I am currently following a friend's blog www.spendfreely.blogspot.com which has taught me sooo much about saving money and getting things for almost nothing! I went out on a shopping adventure on Saturday and I want to share a couple of my finds:

Walgreens
*Bic Solei razors for free, plus I earned $.47
*Colgate toothpaste for $.25
*Degree deodorant (one for Sam and one for me), I got both for $2!
*M&M's-2 bags for $3

Publix
*Spray n Wash Max for $.50
*Tropicana Orange Juice for $.50
*2 baby wipe refills for $1.25 each

Just to name a few....hope this encourages you to go find some deals!!!!

My Little Leprechaun

While I don't necessarily "celebrate" St. Patrick's Day....I did dress my kids in green today....I ran into a consignment store last week and couldn't resist this little 4 leaf clover outfit for Madelyn...also couldn't resist the green hair bow! She is finally sitting up on her own and getting up on all fours and rocking back and forth. I also noticed yesterday that her 2 bottom teeth have poked through!

Happy Birthday Mom!

My mom's birthday is today (she also shares it with her twin sister Michele)...we had a nice dinner and I made a homemade cheesecake. This my first attempt at a cheesecake so I wasn't thrilled with the way it looked...however the consensus was that it tasted awesome!!!! My kids were soooo excited that it was "nana's birthday" but disappointed that "everyone" didn't come for the party....I guess they thought all of their friends would join us. Landon also asked my dad where his uncle was....we finally figured out that he was asking about Uncle Adam. He wanted Adam to come for Nana's party....maybe next time! Just wanted to share a few pics of our celebration tonight. I am so thankful for such a great Mom!

What is Happening Now...

I saw this on someones blog and I thought it was cute....

Outside my window
. . . it is dark, but the windows are open and I am enjoying the night fresh air...

I am thinking
. . . that tomorrow morning is going to be hectic...Sunday mornings always are around my house...

I am thankful for. .
. so many things...salvation, family, healthy children, great friends

From the kitchen. .
. clothes washing in the washing machine

I am wearing. .
. my pjs....

I am reading. .
. actually I just finished the book "Multiple Blessings" by Kate Gosselin and thoroughly enjoyed it!

I am hoping. .
. to make a difference in the lives of people God places in my path...

I am hearing. .
. the ceiling fan rattling a little...

Around the house. .
. toys are on the floor, few dishes in the sink...it is never ending!

One of my favorite things
. . . talking and laughing with my husband after the kids are in bed...I don't get much adult conversation being a stay at home mom of 4 kids 5 and under!!!

A few plans for the rest of the week. . .
tomorrow is church-my moms birthday is on Tuesday and I am cooking her dinner and making her a birthday cake!

SNOW!

Finally, on the first day of March it has snowed! I didn't tell the boys it was going to snow until after church this morning. It rained all day yesterday and up until about 4:30pm today. We opened the blinds and the snow was pouring from the sky! The boys were soooo excited! Ashlyn, on the other hand was "scared" of the snow. When we came out of church tonight someone had made a snowman right next to the sidewalk and she was terrified...When we got home from church the boys immediately started playing in the snow. Even more exciting is that there is no school tomorrow!

Book Suggestion

I have been currently reminded of a book that I read not to long ago that really changed my life. I thought I would share it with you. This is a book for Christian women-whether married, engaged or hoping to be one day. As a wife, I am constantly aware that I can make or break my marriage, so I am constantly trying to improve my role as a wife. When I first read this book it was for knowledge only, however I could not get away from it! The Lord continually reminded me of truths that were shared in this book....it totally changed my mindset about marriage! I hope if you haven't read this you will consider getting it. I am told that it is now available at most major Christian retail stores.

We Finally Have It!

After 3 years of living here in Greenville we have finally arrived! As of today we have DSL internet service. I am so excited to finally be able to get online without looking at my little cell phone screen. Hopefully I will be able to keep up with my blog better now.

A Very Blah Day!

Do you ever have one of those days that no matter how hard you try to be productive...it just doesn't happen! Today was definitely one of those days for me. They were calling for snow last night and I figured school would be on a 2 hour delay....but no snow! So, we woke up late and the day spiraled downhill from there. I had lots of good intentions of getting some things done. Then, the Inauguration came on and I ended up being glued to the TV to watch it. It was history in the making! After lunch I still had my pj's on and decided to give up on getting anything done. So at 6:20 pm I have finally gotten dressed because I am going to Parent Teacher Meeting at school and then I will come home and put my pj's back on! : )
Oh well, tomorrow is a new day and I definitely will have to be up and ready because Ashlyn has her 2 yr old doctor check up...

A Day at the Park

During Christmas break we had a warm front come in. Sam took a partial day off work and we took the kids to the park. I took advantage and took a few pics.

Madelyn-6 months old

Since I am just starting this blog I am a little behind on a few things. Madelyn our baby turned 6 months old this past week. It is hard to believe she is halfway through her first year of life. She has brought such joy to our family and seems to have fit right in to our little schedule. She started cereal last week and now has had carrots, squash & peas. I took her on Wednesday to her well child check up and she is 14lbs. 15 oz and 26 inches long. She is a little squirt compared to the others at this age.

New Blog Attempt

I have been wanting to start a blog for some time now. This will be my attempt to share what goes on in our life.
